In 1997, Elaine Hochberg joined Forest Laboratories, Inc.’s subsidiary, Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc., as Vice President of Marketing. In February 1998, she became Vice President of Marketing for Forest Laboratories, Inc., and a year later, she was named Senior Vice President. Recently, Elaine Hochberg earned the additional titles of Executive Vice President of Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer.
Forest Laboratories, Inc., employs approximately 5,000 people. The commercial division Elaine Hochberg oversees total over 3,200 employees. All of Forest’s sales functions report through Elaine Hochberg, these include Forest’s office based primary care and speciality field forces, as well as the Institutional, Managed Care and Trade sales divisions. As Chief Commercial Officer, Elaine Hochberg also oversees Forest’s commercial functions which include Managed Care Operations & Government Policy, Product Management, Market Research, and the Commercial Assessments/Planning groups. Through these various departments, Elaine Hochberg manages Forest’s commercialization efforts for Forest’s new, established and life cycle products. . Notably, she has spearheaded two of Forest’s most important product launches in the United States, those of Celexa and Lexapro, two successful antidepressants that have become widely used.
Prior to joining Forest Laboratories Inc., Elaine Hochberg gained valuable experience in her field as an Assistant Vice President of Marketing at Wyeth-Lederle Laboratories, now owned by Pfizer Inc.
